Making sentences 50 days left

Taiwan came a severe typhoon Morakot today, so all the workers and students in the island had a day off. And all I could do the whole day was watching DVDs, reading books or surfing the Net. I am going to finish making sentenses with phrases from my English grammar book on this post as the last one I did.

1. cheer up: make happier
After learning my close friend Jim's loss in the speech contest, I tried to cheer him up and confirmed his excellent performance.
2. clean up: make neat and clean
My family took a whole day to clean up the mass resulted from yesterday's typhoon.
3. come along (with): acompany
David, wait for me! Let me come along with you!
4. come from: originate
In today's history class, my teacher asked if anyone knew where our life came from.
5. come in: enter a room or building
Julia, could you help me stay out the door and don't let anyone come in when I am changing clothes?
6. come over (to): visit the speaker's place (instead of someone else's place!!)
My grandparents is coming over for dinner with us around seven thirty.
7. cross out: draw a line through
Could you please give me a hand to cross out the names of the guests who are at the party from this list. (It took me a long time to think about how to write the object of crossing out....)
8. cut out (of): remove with scissors or knife
My friend Amber likes to cut out of all the news about her favorite singer Khalil.
9. dress up: put on nice clothes
Why are you dressing up like that, June? Oh, it's for my best friend's wedding tonight.
10. drop in (on): visit without calling first or without an invitation
It is considered impolite for most people in the U.S. to drop in on someone.
11. drop out (of): stop attending (school)
Jacky has decided to drop out of shool and focuses on his new business.
